About this piece: Each urn is handcrafted by this American Artist. Each piece is unique. The one pictured is the one you will receive. Dimensions: Outer dimensions: 8″ tall, 7″wide, 7″ long. The inside is 6-3/4″ tall, 6-1/4″ wide, 6-1/4″ long or 263 cubic inches. If using this as an urn, it will hold ashes from an animal or human weighing up to about 263 lbs. The box weighs 2lbs. 6oz. Wood: The top is Curly Honduran Mahogany veneered over birch plywood, the sides are Curly Royal Mahogany (Wild Tambran), and Ebony keys (those thin slots on the corners). The curl creates a holographic effect. The ripple curl on the sides is spotty and hard to see in the pictures. Description: No. 230 is a bottom loading urn. The birch plywood bottom is attached with 4 wood screws. It is easy to take off yet stores ashes securely. Looks great displayed on a mantel or piece of furniture. Process: Traditional joinery techniques are used to insure a strong and lasting construction. The wood is sanded to 600 grit and finished with multiple coats of non-yellowing polyurethane.
